Aliens obligations

The obligations of an alien wishing to enter the Schengen area are:

1. He must enter through the checkpoint.
   This obligation does not apply to nationals of the BeNeLux countries.

2. He must show documents permitting him to cross the border to an immigration officer.
   Dutch nationals are allowed to prove their Dutch nationality in other ways if necessary.

3. He must hand his documents permitting him to cross the border to an immigration officer.

4. He must provide information about his entry and stay to an immigration officer.
   This obligation does not apply to nationals of the European Union and the European Economic Area.

5. He must prove to an immigration officer what his means of support are.
   This obligation does not apply to nationals of the European Union and the European Economic Area.

6. Every person [not just aliens] must obey the instructions of the border-control officer.

7. He must halt his vehicle and cooperate in checks.
