Aliens obligations
The obligations of an alien wishing to enter the Schengen area are:
- He must enter through the checkpoint.
This obligation does not apply to nationals of the BeNeLux countries.

- He must show documents permitting him to cross the border to an immigration officer.
Dutch nationals are allowed to prove their Dutch nationality in other ways if necessary.

- He must hand his documents permitting him to cross the border to an immigration officer.

- He must provide information about his entry and stay to an immigration officer.
This obligation does not apply to nationals of the European Union and the European Economic Area.

- He must prove to an immigration officer what his means of support are.
This obligation does not apply to nationals of the European Union and the European Economic Area.

- Every person [not just aliens] must obey the instructions of the border-control officer.

- He must halt his vehicle and cooperate in checks.
