Master's obligations
The master has the following obligations:
- He must cooperate, such as reduce speed, halt his ship and admit officials on board his ship.

- He must hand two copies of the crew list to the immigration officer when entering the Netherlands. [the 12-mile zone]

- He must notify the head of the checkpoint in writing about other persons on board.

- He must immediately report any stowaway.[when entering the 12-mile zone]

- He must hold the crew list and hand it to an immigration officer for inspection without delay.

- He must report any changes in the composition of the crew and any aliens boarding or disembarking
(Section 4.12, subsection 1b, c and d, Aliens Decree 2000)
- He must give notice of intended departure from 6 to 3 hours before departure. If this is impossible, as soon as possible, so that a check can be carried out.
