Aliens with a duty to report 
These are EU citizens. They are allowed to enter or leave the Netherlands after checks at the border crossing point.
No entry or exit stamps will be placed in their documents.
Aliens requiring an official stamp 
These are nationals of countries not requiring a visa, in whose border crossing documents entry or exit stamps will be placed after checks.
Aliens requiring a visa 
All aliens belonging to the categories designated by the Minister need a visa.
Please see the conditions for entry by country into the Schengen area.
An alien will be given a visa sticker in his border-crossing document when all conditions have been satisfied.
If there is any reason why this is impossible, a separate visa statement may be issued.
When all conditions have been satisfied, the alien who needs a visa will receive a stamp in his border-crossing document when he holds a valid residence permit from one of the Schengen countries.
Aliens requiring a visa and for whom consultation is required 
For this category of aliens, the same regulations apply as for those requiring a visa, with the exception that the Schengen-area territory is limited for them.
After checks, entry or exit stamps will be placed in the border crossing documents of all aliens who require a visa.

In principle, every alien who needs a visa must, before entering the Schengen area, hold a valid border-crossing document containing a visa, where applicable,
There is an exception for seamen signing off.
Seafarers requiring a visa who sign off and do not yet hold a visa must, in order to obtain this visa, report to the border crossing point competent in the area where their vessel is berthed.
A visa may be issued at the checkpoint in special cases. A visa may be issued if the alien who needs a visa satisfies all conditions for entering the Schengen area.
Various kinds of visas may be issued:
a transit visa
a travel visa
a travel visa with conditional entry
a group visa
a transit visa statement
a travel visa statement
Transit visa
A transit visa is issued to a seaman who enters the Schengen area and will travel through this area to proceed to the territory of a third country outside the Schengen area.
A transit visa may be issued for a period of 1 to 5 days.
Travel visa
A travel visa is issued to a seaman who wants to stay in the territory of one or more Schengen countries for an uninterrupted period.
A travel visa may be issued for a period of 1 to 15 days (issued at the border)
Travel visa with conditional entry
Special conditions may be attached to a travel visa:
An alien requiring a visa, who has a travel visa, must report to the local aliens police within 3 working days.
The alien may have to pay a security deposit at the border crossing point.
Other conditions may be stipulated.
A conditional-entry sticker will be placed in the border crossing document, stating what conditions apply or that a security deposit has been paid.
Group visa
This may be either a transit visa or a travel visa. A group visa may be issued at the border crossing point.
The issuance conditions are the same as those for an ordinary visa.
Extra conditions for a group visa are:
All persons should have the same travel destination.
The group should comprise at least 5 persons and at most 50 persons.
Each person in the group has the same departure time.
The group of persons travels together. (collectively)
The group visa can be issued for the Schengen area.
The group visa can be issued for a period not exceeding five days
Transit and travel visa statements
These declarations are issued for one of the following reasons:
The border crossing document is full.
The validity period of the border crossing document has expired.
The border crossing document has been issued by a non-recognized country.
